Disney's Club 33

So Brandon is the master of...well, I'm not sure, but he scored "FREE???" tickets to Disneyland for the entire family! While we were sad to leave rainy San Diego Zoo, Brandon got a text that we had tickets to Disneyland the next day. The news cheered everyone up and we hooped and hollared as we ran through the wind and rain to the car.

The DL plans only improved when my friend Kayla who lives in Huntington agreed to watch the two little ones and save us all from torment. (Drew would have had fun, but we would have been on a separate plan than Audrey and Corbin and lunch would have been a disaster.) And after Legoland and the Zoo, Jake was done with the chaos and stroller.

We had tried on previous trips to snag Club 33 tickets, but had been unsuccessful. From what we gathered, the "club" was pretty exclusive. To have a membership, someone must have left it to you in their will. (I don't really think it's that bad, but still. The membership is limited.) I think it costs about $3000 a year, but then you can go to Disneyland whenever you want and whoever goes with you also can attend "free." Well, one of the guys in the LA office that Brandon has an association with got us the tickets. We were thrilled and felt pretty special. Until lunch. :) We still felt special, just a little broke. :)

Apparently, what you don't pay in the ticket prices, you make up for at lunch. And to get the tickets, you make a lunch or dinner reservation at the exclusive restaraunt, Club 33. When Disney was still alive, he wanted somewhere in the park to entertain dignitaries and friends. He had this idea of such a place, but he died before it was finished. It is located in New Orleans Square next to the Blue Bayou restaraunt. There is a dress code, but it was a bit more loose for lunch than dinner. Mostly it was enforcing modest clothing and closed-toe shoes. (I have better pictures on my I-Phone, but don't know how to get them off.)

The lunch was indeed very good, but a bit outrageous. Both Audrey and Corbin got Mickey Mouse pasta with cheese sauce. $60 per child. They had a great salad and seafood bar and a deseret bar that was included.

Anyway, now we can say we've been. The tickets were park hoppers so we bounced between Disneyland and California Adventure hitting all our favorite rides at least once, and sometimes twice.

The older two had a great time, and I think it was fun to have me and Brandon all to themselves. Funny kids though, they still voted Legoland as their favorite.
